Nancy Hagood Putnal, 69 of Pensacola, FL passed away unexpectedly during a routine heart procedure on March 30, 2021.

Nancy was born in Fort Worth, Texas to James and Sarah Hagood. She was married to Ron Putnal for 48 years. They made their homes in Orlando, Panama City, and Pensacola.

She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband, Ron; brother, Roger Hagood (Cindy); son, Jason (Holly); daughter, Carrie Chalchi (Manuel); nephews, Greg and Jeff Hagood; grandchildren, Kylie, Autumn, Ella Putnal, Joshua, Logan, Jude, and Cierra Chalchi; and many cousins, and other family members.

Nancy was a devoted member of the Pace Church of Christ and had been a member at Gateway Church of Christ (Pensacola), Beck Avenue Church of Christ (Panama City), and Concord Street Church of Christ (Orlando). Nancy taught Bible school for many years teaching nursery through elementary school-aged children. In recent years she enjoyed and found real purpose helping her grandson, Jude, with his homeschooling studies and was always sure to include Bible stories and life lessons.

Nancy enjoyed travelling and often talked about her month-long trips out west, to Yellowstone, and to the northeast. She had quite a following on those trips as she journaled about the places she and Ron visited, the restaurants they ate at, and the interesting people they met along the way. She loved her Hallmark movies, HG TV, gospel music, and feel-good stories. She was thoughtful and meticulous about everything: cleaning, decorating, gift wrapping, even folding laundry. She loved hand-made gifts, Christmas ornaments, holiday cards, puzzles, crafts, and putting her own special personal touch on everything. She lived out the motto “if you’re going to do something, might as well do it as well as you possibly can”. She was a talker, but also a great listener. She gave excellent advice and strove for ways to avoid conflict even if it meant self-sacrifice.

Nancy was a loving and devoted wife and Mom (she preferred not to be called mother) and was a true friend to so many. She will be greatly missed by her family, by her church family, and by her many friends far and near.

There will be a visitation at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Pace Church of Christ, Services will be at 9:45 a.m. There will be a Live Stream of the services. Interment will follow at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens. Officiating is David West of Pace Church of Christ. Pallbearers will be Roger Hagood, Manuel Chalchi, Joshua Chalchi, Logan Chalchi, Jude Chalchi, and Jim George.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Pace Church of Christ or to Christian Family Services, 2720 Southwest Second Street, Gainesville, Florida 32607.

Nancy will be sorely missed. She was a true worker for our Lord. She always seemed busy, but also took time to listen. Heaven will surely rejoice when receiving her. Rest in Jesus Nancy, as we struggle to carry on the work here. It has been an absolute pleasure knowing you and your family. Gone way too soon. Tell our beloved brothers, Terry and Ed, hello. Also my sweet friend Judi ( aka Jude), and many others we miss.
