George Anastasios Sakellariou, 61, of Pensacola, FL, passed unexpectantly, at home, on Friday, April 13, 2018 under the loving care of his sister Maria A. Sakellariou and brother Gus P. Silivos.   George was born on the Island of Skopelos, Greece, and in 1969, as a teenager, moved with his family, to Pensacola.  He attended George Stone Vocational School, and upon graduation, worked at the family restaurant Skopelos, until his retirement.  He loved to visit his native land almost every year and enjoyed spending time with family and friends on the island.  He was considered an honorary ‘Mayor’ of the Island. George was a lifelong member of AHEPA (American-Hellenic-Educational-Progressive-Association), and a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. George was very loved by all that came to know him.  His kind and generous heart, joy of life, sweet smile, and willingness to help others will be greatly missed by all. Customers will miss being greeted by George as they enter Scenic 90 Café. George is preceded in death by his parents Anastasios and Anna Sakellariou. He is survived by his sister Maria Sakellariou (Scott Thompson), brother Gus P. Silivos, nephews Paul (Jasmine) Silivos, Stosh Silivos, Donastas Sakellariou-Thompson, niece Katie (Kyle) Azevedo, aunt Heidi Silivos also aunts, and cousins both in the USA and Greece. Visitation and memorial service will be at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 1720 W. Garden Street, on Tuesday, June 26th, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. Funeral Services and interment on his beloved Island of Skopelos, Greece.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be mailed to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.   WATERS & HIBBERT FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
