Obituary

Faye Marie Turner entered this life on June 9, 1928 and graced our lives for just shy of 92 years with her love and kindness. On Wednesday, April 15, 2020 Faye won the race and left behind her earthly tent to join the Lord and claim her victory in Christ. A true Proverbs 31 woman, Faye lived her faith by example and service as she gently and quietly served, encouraged , and challenged both family and friends seeking no praise for herself, desiring only to do that which would glorify her Father in Heaven.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Ethel Fleming and her loving husband, the love of her life, William (Bill) G. Turner Sr. She leaves behind her only son, William (Billy) G. Turner, Jr. , two brothers, Lloyd L. Fleming, Jr. and Glen A. Fleming, Sr. and his wife, Sandra. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Tammy Burns and her husband Robert and their children Robbie Burns and Lauren Burns, Craig Turner and his wife, Jackie, Jamie Westerling and her husband Robert and their dau ghter, Natalie, and Julie Baumgarner and her husband, Jeff and their children, Caroline and Caleb.
In addition, she had a full family of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and church family who loved and adored her. She attended Gulf Breeze ch urch of Christ and was a faithful and dedicated Christian who looked forward to being in attendance for every opportunity to worship or fellowship with God’s family. Despite her increased years, Faye continued to serve and encourage through her card minist ry and encouragement. She dearly loved her church family and continually sought avenues that allowed her to be active in the Lord’s work . She was especially instrumental in providing cards for the Ladies Bible Class card ministry. Faye spent 23 years as a nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital, spending most of her career in the Progressive Care Unit – PR imarily working in cardiac care ,   where she treated each patient as if they were her own family, often visiting them on her days off and always lifting their names individually in her personal prayers . She loved her co -workers and was known to gift them with small tokens of her appreciation whether it be a handmade pin, ornament or baked good to show her respect and gratefulness for the opportunity to work side by side. Her reputation continues to shin e through nurses she trained and mentored over the years.
Special thanks go to Dr. Amos Prevatt and each member of his staff for the many, many years of expert care, compassion, friendship, and personal concern through her many health issues. Special thank s also go to Dr. Ronnie Wiles and the members of his staff for the many years of professional care, compassion, kindness, and encouragement that were offered on every visit. Added appreciation to her dear friend and hairdresser, Barbara Daniel, who gave Faye much joy each week as she enjoyed having her hair done while discussing football and family.
All who knew Faye were blessed beyond measure as they were graced with her example of zeal and trust in her Lord. She was a faithful daily Bible Reader. She was a mighty prayer warrior and spent many hours praying and offering petitions to the Lord for family, friends and any one she knew or heard of who had a physical or spiritual need . S he loved singing, camping in the mountains, traveling and was an avid FSU f ootball and basketball fan . She had a zest for life that was contagious, and she will be sorely missed by all.
Leslie Taylor will conduct services for family and close friends via Zoom .
