Obituary

Christ Peter Bithos
August 17, 1933 - December 07, 2020
Born in Chicago Illinois, he attended Parkside Grammar School, Hyde Park High School and Chicago Vocational School. His parents Peter and Panorea had a Dry-cleaning business until 1954, his family moved to Pensacola, FL where Chris opened Chris’s Superette on the corner of Warrington Road and Jackson Street.
In April of 1958, he met Catina Athanasiou in Mobile, AL at a Greek Function and as part of God's plan, each fell in love with the other. Following a beautiful courtship, they were married on July 12, 1959.
Throughout the course of their wonderful life together, they raised four children: Nora Bithos Constantopoulos, wife to the Rev. Dr. Constantine Constantopoulos, Maria Bithos Peterson, Peter C. Bithos, married to Megan Derzis Bithos, and Anastasia Bithos Zambrano, wife to Gabriel F. Zambrano Esq.

His grandchildren include Stelios Peterson and Pantelis Peterson; Christo Bithos and Penelope Bithos, Gabriel C. Zambrano, Katerina Zambrano, Christian Zambrano and Mia Zambrano; great grandchildren Alexia Peterson and Emilia Peterson (Stelios Children) all of whom he loved very much, as did he his nieces and nephews.
In June of 1968 Chris and his brother in law Spero Athanasios opened the Angus Steak Ranch on Scenic Hwy, they added the lounge in 1972 and expanded to over 10,000 square feet to add a large dining room and kitchen in 1979. Chris worked long hours and worked extremely hard to provide for his family. He retired in 1995 when his son Peter took over.
As with his family, he loved God deeply, and in a very personal way, long being an active member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and a member of the AHEPA in Pensacola, FL.

Pall bearers include Christo Bithos, Gabriel F. Zambrano, Gabriel C. Zambrano, Christian Zambrano, Stelios Peterson, Pantelis Peterson, Greg Staviski, Gus Argeris and Honorary pall bearers include Dr. Ted Ortega, Neal Nash and Joe O'Neal.

In lieu of flowers, the family of the deceased requests that donations be made to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Pensacola, FL (http://annunciationbrockton.org/giving/donations), or to the American Heart Association (https://www2.heart.org/site/SPageNavigator/donatenow_heart_alt.html?campaignId=300&site=Heart&itemId=prod20008) or by mail (https://www.heart.org/-/media/files/get-involved/donate/american-heart-association-printable-donation-form)

The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Emerald Coast Hospice and Personal sitters Maggie Heins, KC McCall, Jacob Rosa, Elmora (Kay) Locke, Sharon Cain, Karly Price, Claire Carlson, Bill & Beverly Holt, Steve & Sherie Week, Wayne & Joan McWaters, Brad & Mary Davis.

Chris Bithos, a husband of fifty-seven years, a father of four, a grandfather of eight, and a friend to countless residents of Greater Pensacola, Gulf Breeze and beyond, reaching back across the country to his native Chicago from whence he came, he will be missed deeply. As he loved everyone, so did everyone love him. May his memory be eternal.
