Obituary

Bernard “Burney” Henry Crooke Jr. Bernard Henry Crooke Jr., native Pensacolian passed away March 10, 2018 at 90 years old.   He was the only child of Bernard Henry Crooke Sr. and Louise DeLoney Crooke.   After graduating from Pensacola High School in 1946 he went directly into the construction industry, organized and was President of B.H.C. Construction Co.   He built local schools and churches and the Riverwalk in Milton. Benny was a member of Cokesbury Methodist Church, Sons of Confederate Veterans, past president of Krewe of LaFitte and participated in Hatteras Pond Oil Field.   He was a Civil War enthusiast and won many “Best of Show” and “First Place” awards all over the United States with his Civil War guns.   He was preceded in death by his parents.   Surviving him are his relatives and friends, a special friend of 20 years, Jean Brown. Special thanks to Covenant Hospice at Sacred Heart Hospital. A graveside service conducted by Rev. Stuart Worth will be held on Wednesday, April 11 at 11am in St. Michaels Cemetery, downtown Pensacola. WATERS & HIBBERT FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
